Postdoctoral Research Opportunities

NIST, in collaboration with The National Academies, has a substantial program for postdoctoral research associates. Receiving one of these two-year appointments with a salary of $60,000 has become prestigious. Applications are accepted twice a year, by February 1 and August 1. Twice as many positions are offered in January as in August. There are no exceptions to the deadlines.

You can however learn all the details about the NIST program, download application forms, or even apply on-line. Note that part of the application process is for you to develop a research proposal. Be certain to allow enough time before the deadline to discuss your proposal ideas with your proposed advisor and to write the proposal.
